I studied Nursing in USSR. When my family and I immigrated to the USA I took the qualification test and became an RN in New York. I knew that it wouldn’t take long before my level of knowledge was not enough to move up the career ladder and so I started looking for a college to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Long story sort, the schools in America are very different from Russian, it took me a while to understand how it works. Verses Russian schools where I knew what and when was scheduled for me academically. With GPC I got my BSN online and it felt so comfortable, I got my Master’s as well! I came to the US fresh from the Teaching School and was very upset that I had to start over and get a new Degree. I was not gona become a teacher in the US, and to be honest, I never felt like it was my calling to be a teacher. Since I filed for an immigration I was qualified to study with the government support, all I had to do is never mention my degree (according to my neighbors). I was looking for a school when I found an ad in a newspaper about this Consulting Agency. I only went there because it was close to my work at that time. The girls from GPC saved me so much time! I would have studied all over again, took all those boring math classes, instead they helped me send my existing diploma for an evaluation. Based on my degree I took a quick course and became an ultrasound technician!
My girlfriend is Russian, that’s how I found out about GPC. I couldn’t graduate from college for a number of reasons. Now I need to work full-time to support my family, so I thought I would never have a chance to get a diploma. GPC told me about a number of online courses that I could take towards a degree.
